Hi Iannosaurus Welcome to TWH. Hope you enjoy it here. There was some mini tip or something right when I started that led me to believe that recruiting a massive number of generals would reduce their quality, however I couldn't find anything further on it.Can you remember what the exact tip was? I don't think the number recruited will cause an issue with their quality. The post above is how you get a general for an existing army miles from town. However, be sure you only select one unit. It you do a control-A to select them all and then click 'promote', you will get multiple generals in one army which is a bit useless to be honest.

Yea ive seen the tip too, its one o the things the advisor says during the campaign. For one, yes, if you have a very experienced unit, that you promote, then the general will have the same experience, also works the same with naval units and i dont see why you would want an army of generals, they cost almost twice as much as normal units, and they ony have like 10 soldiers in it. I dont think they really decrease in quality since their experience is based off the unit that got promoted, i think it means something like they would be worth as much, plus imagine the morale crush when you don notice you 4 units of generals in the back that got killed.
