Again though. Programmu proverki znanij ekzamen versiya 158. Stuck on expanding files. The exact copy of Win 7 I had installed on there still existed I had no idea. Yeah got a license for Win 7 but that's no worries I'll just use that to install in Bootcamp on my Macbook. Stuck on 'Expanding Windows files (0%).' By Fid, December 14, 2011 in Microsoft Windows. Hi, I'm trying to install the Windows 7 beta on a second SATA drive I have (the first one contains a WinXP installation), in a dual boot configuration. When installing by booting from the DVD, the installation gets stuck at 0% of 'Expanding Files' (mouse pointer gets stuck, numlock does not respond.) When installing through my WinXP installation, everything goes fine until the first reboot - which brings me into the non-XP installation part, which gets stuck at ~30% expanding files. The installation image is fine - I tried installing from various sources (DVD and from my HD). An installation with the same image inside a virtual machine (with MS Virtual PC) worked flawlessly. Any log files that might help? The last line in my 'setupact.log', if it is relevant, is '2009-01-16 23:33:09, Info [0x0606cc] IBS Calling WIMApplyImage (flags = 0x184).'

Based on these three observations, I'd venture a guess that you need SATA drivers to successfully perform the installation.
